CP-221 – Polyethylene
What is CP-221?
CP-221 is heat shrinkable radiation cross-linked commercial grade polyolefin tubing which is rated at 105 degrees C. CP-221 is manufactured from high quality modified polyethylene based resins.
CP-221 is available in many high gloss colors and in high clarity clear materials. This tubing should be considered for high-volume, commercial applications where flame retarding is not required, but where material cost is an important factor.
CP-221 should ordinarily be considered for those applications that currently use a noncross-linked, heat shrinkable PVC. Compared to noncross-linked PVC CP-221 has similar continuous temperature rating and is cross-linked, nonmelting, easy to handle, and shrinks at a low temperature for fast installation. CP-221 also has an indefinite storage life, and is insensitive to storage temperatures, unlike PVC.
