G-7 Glass Silicone Laminate
What is G-7 material?
G-7 Glass Silicone Composite Laminate is a continuous filament glass cloth silicone resin laminate. G7 Laminate has excellent electrical properties. G7 laminate has the highest temperature rating of an Industrial laminate and may be used in applications up to 200 degrees C. G-7 material has good dielectric loss factor and insulation resistance under humid conditions and over a wide temperature range. G-7 composite also has excellent heat and arc resistance and is self-extinguishing.
What Is Micarta G7 Laminate?
Micarta G-7 was the trade name given to G7 laminates made by Westinghouse that meet the NEMA G-7 type GSG specifications.
In fabrication, care must be taken machining G7 laminate due to the low internal bond strengths inherent in silicone resins.
