G-5 and G-9 Glass Melamine Laminate
What is G-9 Material?
G-5 and G-9 Composite laminate is a continuous filament glass cloth with heat resistant melamine resin binder. G9 glass melamine laminate is a very hard, flame resistant grade that has excellent arc resistance and electric strength properties even under Humid or wet conditions. G-5 and G-9 laminate sheet has high mechanical strength and machines well. This product also has good dimensional stability.
What is G-5 Material?
NEMA G-5 laminate is an older designation that has been mostly replaced some years ago by the NEMA G-9 designation, and still may appear on older drawings, but otherwise is interchangeable.
G-5 and G-9 material is especially suited for applications requiring arc and flame resistance as well as stiffness and high mechanical strength.
What Is Micarta G9 Laminate?
Micarda G-9 was the trade name given to G-9 laminates made by Westinghouse that meet the NEMA G-9 type GSG specifications.
