What is Hydex 4101?

Hydex 4101 is made from Polybutylene Terephthalate (PBT) resin under the trade names of Rynite from Dupont; Ultradur from BASF; Valox from General electric. Hydex 4101 has improved chemical resistance over acetals and will not crack or craze in chlorine; It also withstands the steam cleaning temperatures and outperforms UHMW. Hydex 4101 is more ductile and less brittle than PET. It does not chip or contaminate food products. Hydex 4101 is both FDA and USDA approved for food equipment applications.
